It looks like the 13 can handle 2 eSIM instead of 1x eSIM + 1 x PhySim like older models.
I was wondering then if it could be possible to have 3 lines on the same phone ( 2xeSIM+1xPhySim ) and as usual having only two online at the same time, while having the option to decide which one...

Any thought ?

I think my iPhone 12 Pro could handle more than one eSIM. It gave me the option to add more.

Add as many as you want. But only 1 eSim can be switched on. The others turned off. I have 6 and switch as I travel in-between countries.

The 13 supports dual esim. So you can have two active at the same time.

So if I have two more lines I add on to e sim that I am using on a second phone, but only use these lines occasionally for online ads etc, I know I can turn them on when need be, but if someone sends me a text on that e sim line while off, what happens?

You can install up to 5 eSIM and 1 physical SIM in an iPhone 13. But you can only have 2 active at the same time (regardless if 2 eSIM or 1 physical + 1 eSIM).
