yes but don't call customer support. Xfinity/comcast i think has one of the worst support lines ever. Really hard to understand and usually don't know WTF they are talking about but yes the definitely support esim (New iphones) or there would be a max exodus and they wouldn't have the new iphones proudly displayed on their web page. I ordered one directly from them so i'm assuming its going to be very easy but if you ordered it from apple you might have to make a visit to your local xfinity store when you get your new phone. TMobile from what i've seen makes it the easiest. You just download their app and it does everything for you. Why everyone can't do this i don't know.

Has anyone successfully converted an existing line to eSIM with Xfinity or has it been confirmed that this is only possible for new devices?
Following up on my previous post, my success has been 50/50. We have 2 lines, one with a 13 mini and another with a 12 mini. Was able to convert the 13 mini physical SIM to an eSIM in less than 10 minutes. I will note that the line on the 13 mini was originally activated with an iPhone 7 which was still linked to the account as the main device and the 13 was only listed as a linked device. I went to "Devices" on the xfinitymobile website and selected "Replace Your Device" and it recognized the IMEI2 for the 13 mini and sent a push notification to activate the eSIM and pretty straightforward from there.

On the 12 mini though, its a whole different story. The line was originally activated with the same 12 mini. Despite entering the IMEI2 for the eSIM, the Xfinity website seems stuck with IMEI1 and provides instructions to install a physical SIM. Called support and they have no clue. Went to the store and the guy at the counter really wanted to help and seemed to believe when I informed him that I had already made the switch on the 13 mini, but he couldn't help me and he called support who basically told him that any line initiated with a physical SIM could not be converted to an eSIM period. They didn't care to respond to my being able to convert the 13 mini Physical SIM to an eSIM.

I had a chat with a rep yesterday and she seemed very confident and told me that currently they only support eSIM on iPhone 13 and 14. She wasn't sure why but did say they have support for the iPhone 12 series phones coming.

From what I’ve seen so far online was the same. iPhone 12 and earlier isn’t supported yet. I think the transition once people have the iPhone 14 will be fine though.

Went from physical sim to esim relatively easy.
1. Go to your devices in your account
2. Click on the one you're replacing
3. Click “replace this device”
4. Follow the steps given for being your own device.
5. USE YOUR FIRST IMEI, not IMEI2.

That’s it, done.

2 of the “continue” buttons did nothing for me and I had to wait (no more than 15 seconds) and tried again

Customer service for all carriers is greatly degraded. Help is hard to find so they are farming out customer service to huge 3rd parties, mostly in India.

Didn’t work for me… just says my number is already in use. Well yeah duh xfinity, I’m trying to convert my sim to an eSim that already exists on your network. 😣 any other xfinity mobile customers managed to convert from sim to esim using their existing number?

You would hope their Support team would know about the iPhone 14 Pros being eSim only. Sheesh, it’s advertised on their front page of their website promoting a $400 discount with an iPhone purchase.

My iPhone 14 Pro Max will be here in the AM and I hope they worked all that when I try, I will share my steps if I manage to get it on my first try.

My apologies, this is only for a jump from an older iPhone (for my case iPhone 12) to the 14. I too had issues just converting my existing 12 to an esim.

Pretty pathetic company not being ready for such a big launch. Guess I should be switching out to a bigger one like Verizon or ATT who prepares for such things professionally. Bane of my life switching between phone networks lol.

Guys I’ve just figured this out!! And it’s a simple solution. Do the whole process from within you xfinity account on a desktop computer! Not on a mobile device! Let me know how that goes for you

Yes this is how I did it too.

And I expected nothing less from XM tbh. At the same time, apple gave them a week notice to prepare. I’m sure on the backend, it was more time but even still.

To be fair to them the process was extremely easy when done on a computer. Have no idea why their support or website doesn’t offer up this gem of information to their customers..

As I mentioned in my post (#27), the Xfinity eSIM conversion is quite straightforward for the iPhone 13, but not the same for the iPhone 12. If you try it on a 12 with the IMEI2 for eSIM, you will get a message that your phone is not at all compatible with Xfinity (although you may be already using it with a physical SIM) or you will get a message that your IMEI1 is compatible along with instructions to install a physical SIM. 10 days after launch, still no eSIM support for the iPhone 12.

Following this thread. Looking to get an iPhone 11 Pro on eSIM with Xfinity - could've sworn a few weeks ago it said compatible!

Bought my 14 PM from Apple and went to Xfinity story to activate. Totally unprepared. The person who helped me said they were required to go thru customer support. He was on the phone with them for at least an hour during which they hung up on him once requiring him to start all over. The icing on the cake is that I asked them to install a Spigen screen protector before starting the process. What a fiasco. After two attempts they handed me the phone with a screen protector with a cutout for the notch. It is really inexcusable that they were so unprepared for this.

Be warned: it seems you cannot go back to an older phone after activating an Xfinity eSIM.

I’d like to return my new 14 Pro — except Xfinity provides *no path* to bring service back to my old 11 Pro.
  1. Quick eSIM Transfer: Xfinity doesn’t support Apple’s convenient Quick Transfer.
  2. Agent-assisted eSIM Transfer: Xfinity’s site does say they offer eSIM for devices as far back as the XS, but the agent informed me they only support iPhone 13 and 14 at present.
  3. Revert to physical SIM: Apparently this isn’t possible either. After the line has been switched to eSIM there’s no way to activate even a new physical SIM with the same number.
After countless calls/chats and store visits, and several days wasted, it’s clear they didn't foresee that anyone would want to return to an older device after activating an iPhone 14.

Absolutely nuts you can't put service back on a perfectly good device which was previously used on their service.

Certainly good to know. Xfinity really needs to get thier act together with the eSIM deployment.

I'm still holding on to my 12 mini with the physical Xfinity SIM. Despite a several attempts to convert to the eSIM, I haven't had any luck on the 12 mini.

I cannot seem to go to another esim phone as well. I’ve been dealing with online, in store, chat, and various people at Xfinity Mobile support with no help. One person says it’ll be activated in an hour. Two hours later, nothing. Another person says it’ll be activated in 24 hour. Meanwhile, my line is still connected to the old phone.

For the past week, and now, I've been on Live Assistant Chats with India. I was able to get my own phone number transferred over from Verizon to Xfinity, but we have not been able to get this happening with my wife's phone. [I think Xfinity refers to the time spent on hold with them] I keep getting promises, finally on Friday when I called, I got a robo-message that there's another party [Verizon?] at fault.
I really regret having decided to change to Xfinity for my mobile service. Cheaper is good, but free would be appropriate if the phone doesn't work.

We upgraded two phones with existing Xfinity Mobile cell service. One activated withing 10-15 minutes. My phone started the activation on 10/19 around 12 noon. New iPhone 14 Pro still not activated. My old phone's cell service is still active. Chat on 10/19 told me to wait and it will be activated in 2 hours. Didn't. Called this morning (10/20) around 6:30 AM and they said keep the new phone off and the old phone on. When the cell service disappears off the old phone, turn on the new phone and it will activate. Called back at noon. Same answer. So, in a holding pattern.

To reiterate from my earlier post, we changed from Verizon to Xfinity last week, buying an iPhone 14 & a 14+ They switched my line over quite smoothly. We got transfer PINs from Verizon and I have spent hours on chats and phone with Xfinity (the time they waste is Xfinite!), and they still have not gotten my wife's phone working.
I am headed to the local Verizon store tomorrow, and since I really don't want to go to jail, will do my best to be polite and charming with the staff rather than showing exactly how angry I am.
