Apple's espionage thriller "Tehran" premiered today on its TV+ video streaming service. The first three of eight episodes in the series are now available to watch, with a new episode to come out each Friday over the next five weeks.

"Tehran" tells the story of a Mossad agent who goes deep undercover on a dangerous mission in Iran's capital that places everyone around her in dire jeopardy.

The show stars Israeli actress Niv Sultan, along with Shaun Toub, Shervin Alenabi, Liraz Charhi, and Menashe Noy. Apple partnered with Cineflix Rights and Israeli network Kan 11 to co-produce the series.

Apple TV‌‌+ is priced at $4.99 per month and provides access to ‌‌Apple TV‌‌+ shows and movies for the whole family. ‌‌Apple TV‌‌+ can be viewed on iPhone, iPad, ‌‌Apple TV‌‌, Mac, Roku devices, Amazon Fire TV, and select Smart TVs from LG and Samsung.

First interesting show on TV+
Yes and hopefully a good sign that Apple is prepared to buy 3rd party content and not just rely on what it can produce itself. I'm hoping this is at least as good as Fauda.

I think we can all agree that this looks like it will be a TV show with a decidedly political content. Given its theme and plot outline, I would expect that reaction to it will probably be quite divided.

Especially a show about Iran produced in Israel.

You didn’t enjoy “Defending Jacob”? I thought it was really good.

DJ was… OK, but had weird pacing issues. All episodes until the final one were fairly slow, which I didn't particularly mind per se, but… the final one then had a ton of stuff happening, suddenly, and seemingly for no real reason. Like they had it prepared for a second season and then decided to make it single-season instead.

I'd love these shows:

"Washington" tells the story of a Cuban doctor who goes deep undercover on a dangerous mission to provide free healthcare in the US's capital that places everyone around her in dire jeopardy.

"Overthrow" tells the story of an Iranian agent in 1952 who goes deep undercover in the US's capital on a dangerous mission to stop the overthrow of her democracy.

If you don't like Ted Lasso, then I don't know what to tell you.

See also: For all Mankind, Mythic Quest, several others.
I believe that posters that come on here declaring everything Apple+ sucks are usually just trolling. I mean you cannot expect every show to be tailored to what you like but I've said it before and I'll say it again, even though I don't like every show offered on AppleTV+ I don't have many negative things to say about the production value.

I'm on the other end of the scale, I've liked most things Apple has put out. The ones I haven't watched is anything Oprah and the kid offerings and haven't watched any of the movies yet. I will get around to most of them just haven't had time. Was excited about Amazing Stories but soured on it, it just wasn't "amazing". Thought I'd dislike Mythic Quest and Ted Lasso turns out I liked both of them.

I dunno, whenever I hear people talk negatively about AppleTV+ they are holding Apple to an almost impossible standard that I never see for Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, or any other streaming service, ignoring the fact that it isn't even a year old and they started from scratch and didn't have built-in previous content (Like Disney+). There is so much garbage on Netflix and Amazon that when a show is really good people are surprised it came from one of those streaming services. I like Apples approach, quality over quantity and try to cover as much area without too much compromise.

I think it's pretty good, given that it's only about a year old and only $5/mo.

That said, one way of looking at it is that the roster so far is rather impressive. Another way: Apple is throwing a ton of money at it, and it's unclear if this entire project is necessary (rather than distracting) at all.
