    Hey guys,

Does anyone know where to find the protocol for pulling sports scores from the internet? Lots of apps available grab sports scores (think SportsTap/Sportacular on iPhone). I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find the protocol so a Mac app that I am working on can get the latest updates.

    Thanks,
    Sean

I doubt ESPN is going to give real-time score data away for free, especially since they pay for it from a provider, STATS, as does everyone else like Yahoo!, CNN, Comcast, SI, etc. They are probably prohibited from rebroadcasting that data in an open web service even if they wanted to. As duggram says, you'll probably have to resort to some sneaky techniques to get that data, or pay STATS, although I imagine it's not cheap.
