I stumbled across ESR cases and noticed they have one that’s attached magnetically to the back - not a cover, a full case.

Does anyone have experience with this case brand and type? Is it OK to use a magnetic case in this way?

The worst part of buying a new iPad is finding a case. But it’s time to go from my iPad Pro 9.7” to the new iPad Air 4. Currently using a Sena case which is very nice (or at least it is after they fixed the whole melting to the iPad thing).

I considered this case but then decided it didn’t provide any side protection. For sure it’s lightweight.

It mimics Apple’s MKB, but the benefit of a magnetic attachment is for quick removal likely to change from horizontal to vertical mode. But this case already lets you do this.

JWreck, I also recently got a new iPad Air and this case is top of my list. Stil not 100% sure though.
Anyone already using it?

I've been using the 12.9" iPad Pro version of this case since August and I love it, especially the fold over piece to keep the pen in place. I'd recommend.

I have an ESR case that cracked after 2 weeks but they did refund me, so no loss there... and since this one doesn’t have the frame that holds the iPad in place, no risk of having the same issue.

I use this case for my iPad Air 4, yes it’s really good. The magnets are surprisingly very strong and the auto sleep/wake feature works reliably. The latch is also a nice bonus compared to the Apple Smart Folio.

I've been using this case for a month and am very happy with it. The magnets attach firmly, sleep/wake works reliably, and the case feels very secure. I especially like that the pencil is held in place rather than sticking out and potentially being jostled loose as I’ve seen with several other cases.

I have this case too. On my one the sleep wake does not work - not a surprise because the listing on Amazon said that the sleep-wake did not work. Maybe it is because it was an early production unit?

Either way I love the case. It stays on well, is easy to take off. I like the origami style design which makes it easy to stand up the iPad even on uneven surfaces like a bed or a pillow. It's a great case.

If they have updated it with sleep-wake I may buy it again.

This is the version I have.

I also have the ESR Origami case and like it a lot. Apple moved some magnets for auto wake and that is why the Origami case won’t auto wake. I think it was only recently that ESR updated their Amazon page to say it doesn’t support it. Like you, I’ll definitely get another one if they update it. Besides missing the wake function, it is a great case because of what you’ve already mentioned. I also like how quickly I can detach the case because I really like using the iPad naked.

Agree completely.

I bought a few MoKo magnetic cases on amazon im going to turn into a dash mount. They are cheap enough that ill cut off the folding part and I like that its magnetic. Ill also use that mount In a mount I made for my bedside table. Pretty excited about the magnetic part of it im not a fan of cases in general and would like to pop it off of it when im using it normally.

I have the ESR case and auto wake does work on the Air 4, so it must have been updated. Just got mine in March.
