Essential Apps for the Macbook Pro

It has been decided. I will soon be the owner of a 17" Macbook Pro (thankyou for helpling me reach this decision). I can't wait, it will be replacing my trusty Quicksilver which I got exactly five years ago. It's never gone wrong once and I'm very sad to see it go.

ANYWAY!

What would you recommend me downloading for my new MBP?

Having said that, please take a look around the forum before posting a thread like this; there are MANY 'what software should I get for my new machine' threads already out there. Take a look at those and if there's a specific application you need addressed, then start a new thread regarding that.

Skype is free, to call other computers. If you want to call regular/mobile phones, you have to pay a per-minute fee.
