Essential Mac Programs

My MacBook should arrive tomorrow, I've already downloaded Firefox - anything other essential software I need?

Also, what Virus/Firewalls are the best for Macs? Do you even need a virus checker?

The built-in firewall is sufficient. You don't need virus scan as there are very very very few viruses for OSX.

MS Office or Neo Office would be good. Safari, IMHO, is actually better than Firefox because WebKit is faster than Gecko for me. Than again, I'm a G4 and I've heard that FF on x86 is fairly quick.
