I was thinking of buying this for my Black Macbook. But, I have a few questions before I go out and spend 400 dollars.

  1. Does it look good on a Black Macbook?
  2. Is it durable?
  3. Does it mess up your Macbook in anyway?
  4. How would you recommend me to submit my custom design? I could scan it but it might be blurry. But, if I draw it on the computer, I would really need a tablet to make it come out right. Any suggestions?
  5. Is there any website that can allow me to easily draw out a design that would look smooth and neat?
  6. For people that have this, would you recommend it? Any comments/observations about it?

Here is the link to their website: http://www.etchamac.com/

Thanks guys!

No it doesn't! That's like saying scratch your MB voids the warranty.

It may not /void/ the warranty outright, but if the Apple repair techs can hang a problem you're having on the etching, they'll do it. I know one guy who had his MBP etched with his name and postcode - he's recently had a problem with his screen, and Apple won't repair it because it's related to a part that is in the vicinity of the etching.

Not to say it's not worth doing or is inherently a bad thing, but go into it with open eyes.
