    Hi,

I currently have two Airport Expresses on my home network. One is set to create the network and the other is set to join it.

On the Airport Express that is set to join my wireless network, I am having trouble getting the LAN port to enable. Should it be active or do I need to do some configuration to get it to be active?

    Thanks in advance.

You have checked the box on the Wireless screen that says:

    Allow Ethernet clients

This must be ticked if you want to enable the Ethernet port as well as join a wireless network.

Does that mean I have to change the setting to "Participate in a WDS network"? Right now I have it set to "Join a wireless network". Is one mode better than the other? I don't necessarily want to sacrifice wifi network stability just so I can enable the ethernet port.

    Thanks.

Why don't I see that option? I am running firmware 6.3 and this is on a "g" Airport Express.

Ahh that makes it clearer, I am running an "n" Airport Express with 7.5.2. I think that was added in for that model.
