Does anyone who uses this notice it takes a little bit longer then it should to re-establish connectivity when you wake your Mac up from sleep mode? I have also ran into issues with it if I leave my Mac on sleep for a few days that when I wake it up no matter what I do it won't reconnect and I have to reboot the machine and sometimes that doesn't even work and I have to physically crawl under my desk and unplug and replug in the ethernet wire.

I have Apple care im tempted to call them up and see if they will give me a new power brick, but figured I would come on here first and ask if anyone else was having similar issues.

I don’t put my iMac to sleep, just have the display turn off. No issues with nightly chron jobs that way.
 What's your point? Did I miss something? Did anyone ask how to ensure nightly cronjobs will run at all times?

@JuicelessMango I would call Apple and ask. It doesn't sound like a hardware defect to me though, more like a software bug that needs to be ironed out.

Thanks for the reply. I figured I would end up needing to talk to Apple but wanted to check on here to see if anyone else was having similar issues. Have you ever used their live chat support? is it worth it? or should I go straight to phone support?

My point is that Macs don’t always wake up from sleep properly - exactly the problem the OP was having. The M1 iMac uses very little power when the display is off. Little reason to have it sleep. I was only explaining one of the reasons why I do t let it sleep.

This is not mirrored by my experience. When I wake mine from sleep each morning, it reconnects to my servers almost instantly. Maybe a couple of seconds delay. It also downloads my mail and pulls up the updated last visited webpage, all while I'm sitting down at the desk.

The delay on waking on Mondays is a little more pronounced - I'd say probably 5-10 seconds from wake, but has not been anything like the problem you describe.

I would suggest you try wifi, with the ethernet cable disconnected - not because that is a solution, but because if wifi is a similar problem it would tend to point to the system, while if it isn't, it would narrow it down to ethernet. That may give you a little more ammunition when you call Apple to discuss the experience. But overall, I would expect them to agree that this isn't expected behavior and requires them to resolve it.

Sounds like a defect.
Mine wakes up with my fingerprint and immediately available.

I opted for the Ethernet power brick option on my base 24" and love it - runs much faster and snappier than WiFi.
