when connecting my computer (mac) or any computer directly to the router with ethernet cable, everthing works. when plugging my computer to ethernet in a different room through d-link its connected with green light and the I.P Adress and router are correct as if i connect directly but no there is no internet connection. i tries renewing DNS and reboot. nothing helps. what else can i do?

What type of device is the D-Link? For adding ports to a 4-port router your best option is a switch rather than another router. If you use a router you need to be sure it's not acting as a router.

Explain your setup in more detail. Most people have a router connected directly to a cable modem. They connect their computer directly to the router. That can be either wired or wireless depending on the router. If wired, a cable must extend all the way to the router from the computer. Anything that is in between the router and the computer in this chain is likely your culprit, barring a bad ethernet cable.
