I connect my iBook to the wall in my student housing. The company is KeyCom (awful) The connection wasn't working. I changed something in my built in ethernet from PPP or something to DDD or something I can't remember.

How should my ethernet connection look? Could someone take a screenshot? The company are totally useless at helping me, especially with a Mac.

It sounds like you changed the Ethernet configuration such that you disabled PPPoE, and switched the Configure IPv4 to DHCP. These two ways of configuring ethernet are not interchangeable.

If you are in fact supposed to be using PPPoE, you need to open System Preferences, click on Network, double click on Build-in Ethernet, click on the PPPoE tab, and then enter the connection information that KeyCom should provide you with. When you do this, Configure IPv4 will automatically change from DHCP to PPP.
