I just purchased a used iPad 3 and was wondering if there is a good app to give me an idea what kind of shape the battery is in. Most of the ones I've seen just give a few basic parameters. What I'm wondering is how much life does my battery still have.
Thanks for your help.

At the bottom of this page there are multiple threads about battery health. They will have apps for that in the app store, likely for free!

Thanks. I found an OSX app called ibackupbot. It showed battery cycle count = 40, Design Capacity = 11560 and full Charge Capacity as 10920. I assume this means my battery is in pretty good shape of a 3rd gen. iPad.

Yep, that one is in a very good shape. My own has a cycle count of 220 and a full charge capacity of only 9600. Still lasts long though!
