some people have wood fired boilers that use a store of pellets to auto feed, WiFi models of those have been about for a long time.

wifi control modules to regulate stove air intake based on flue temps are a thing too.

OK kind of misleading: the Thread standard doesn't depend on a router or hub... but it still depends on the existence of a border router. I have several Eve devices that are Thread compatible but none of them have an active Thread status.

I wish that at least Eve's "Extend" hub would be Thread compatible.
