G GerritB macrumors regular Jul 18, 2018 116 82 Aug 26, 2018 #2 I used to use an app called ScreenShade for this purpose. It's free and wile it doesn't actually 'dim' the backlight, it applies a grey shade over the entire screen so that it gets darker. For me it got the job done.
