Even lower screen brightness?

On latest 2018 MBP 15'' here...

Sometimes at night the very lowest screen brightness isn't low enough for me. How do you dim it even more?

Do I have to use some third party app? Any suggestions?
 
I used to use an app called ScreenShade for this purpose. It's free and wile it doesn't actually 'dim' the backlight, it applies a grey shade over the entire screen so that it gets darker. For me it got the job done.
 
The lowest for me on my 15" 2018 turns the screen off. The next one to that is very dark. How dark is yours getting?
