ever heard of the butterfly effect?

one flap of a butterfly's wings could be the start of a chain of events for a hurricane.

likewise in EVERY time travel movie it seems, steeping on like a flower causes humungous changes in the future lol. i hope i have that kind of significance haha

heres a link explaining the butterfly effect for those who don't know
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butterfly_effect

haha or another good example of the butterfly effect as explained in the article, although fictitious is that of the movie It's a Wonderful Life. In the movie George is able to go back in time and see how his absence affected others. Kind of a cool concept

Love is the significator.

Sun Baked was nearly on point. Those of us that think ourselves significant (politicians, administrators, etc.) are really the insignificant ones. Those that think themselves insignificant (caring friends, loving spouses and kids, burger flippers, trash collectors, etc.) are the significant ones.

The homeless on the street are the greatest of recyclers and do more to help the earth than anyone else. The guy in a dead-end job that provides love and sustenance to his family. The one with nearly nothing willing to sacrifice all for a friend in need. These are the significant ones.

What that comes down to is that ego is to be maligned -- humility praised. We are the opposite of what we think ourselves.

Love is the significator.

If significance is judged purely by whether or not the world would have gotten on without someone, I'd challenge anyone to name someone who was indeed significant.

Lazlo's Law of Chinese Relatively.
"No matter how great your triumphs or tragic your losses, approximately 1 billion Chinese couldn't care less."
I was going to say significance is all about relativity. In the case of two extemes, a child's parent/care-giver could be the most significant person in the universe. However if all these 'significant' beings on earth were destroyed would the universe even know it?

I try not to ponder on significance that much, because long ago I realized it's either an ego thing, or a feeling of powerlessness; neither are very good to dwel on, so I focus on how I can make things better for me and those around me.
