This update has made Evernote awesome again! Really didn't like the home screen layout.

I won't try justify it to anyone. If you don't need it don't use it!

Here Here. No need to justify.
I use Evernote a lot. I hand write notes on my ipad mini during meetings and save them in Evernote. They are even serchable - yet another and unmentioned feature that keeps me using Evernote - the notes are searchable.

....and on a side note, cool handle.. username I wish I had thought of that!!

Haha I couldn't think of anything. Thankfully with keychain, now I don't have to remember a million and one logins.

The home screen customization is an improvement, but I wish I could show all 5 of my shortcut notebooks instead of just two when I choose to "show details" for shortcuts. I have the screen real estate available, and that extra click is a waste of time for those notebooks I want to access quickly.

That is my only problem too. They're SHORTCUTS after all. Why can I show more notebooks than them?

Thanks for the answer, but I can also do all that already (minus the all-under-one-roof aspect) with the stock apps in Mavericks and iCloud (for when I'm on a Windows machine).

FYI: I'm not trying to be difficult, I'm interested, but I don't see how this does anything better than what Apple already offers. Except, again, the all-in-one app approach. It's such a popular app I feel like I must be missing the obvious on this one.

The stock Notes app can't have embedded PDFs, photos, voice files and other files that sync across all of your devices flawlessly. You can't save an email by sending it to the Notes app. And the organization within the Notes app is horrendously basic. Even writing a bulleted list is clumsy in the Notes app.

Evernote is basically a digital repository. Its most basic feature is note taking, but if you take full advantage of it, it turns into a digital filing cabinet that syncs flawlessly across all of your devices and is accessible offline. It's that integration and that control that the stock apps can't replicate. Believe me, I tried relying on just the stock apps and Dropbox, but the solution was clumsy and more limited.
