Hey all, I've been using my macbook pro since the start of this year with no problems.

In the past few days, my computer seems to be breaking. Sometimes when activating it from a sleep, it wont start up right, i have to turn it off and on.

Sometimes an app will crash, usually Safari when i'm browsing the web. Once one crashes, they all crash. I will load up activity monitor and mail, app store, safari, itunes will all be marked as not responding in red writting.

Seems to only be the apple products that are crashing oddly enough. Calendar does it too.

I have to force quit them from inside Activity Monitor, but if i re-load them they still crash. For example i'm trying to reload safari now and it just sits there not loading the page, and App store will bounce up and down and not do anything. Only solution is to turn off and on. It's driving me nuts.

Sometimes as a result of this, my Mail app will forget all of its passwords for every account ,and i have to go through re-adding them all again too.

I've not unplugged anything, or hit it! Or anything silly. All i've done recently is install the FTP program Transmit.

Any help would be great as this is driving me crazy

Re-install the base OS. If it is only Apple apps that are messed up it could be a framework issue.

How would i go about doing this?

My macbook came with Lion installed and it's upgraded to Mountain Lion.

I also do regular backups with timecapsule

Just do a command-r boot and go to the Recovery HD partition and enter your AppleID then redownload and install Mountain Lion.

When you installed ML on your machine it updated the Recovery HD to the ML version and as long as that drive/partition is there is will go straight to a ML install and not Lion.
