Every time I reboot I loose my USB printer

On my Mac mini 2018 the printer I have been using on my 2012 Mac mini with unsupported Big Sur worked all the time every time , I am now faced with lost laser printer every single time I reboot. I have to scan load drivers in for each use which is pretty much 2-4 times a day which is as you'd expect a little annoying.
