I swear, every year is a new supply worry. But yet every year if you get on in time we always get what we want on launch. Is there ever going to be a time we don’t freaking worry about pre ordering and launch day delivery..

It also doesn't help that there were a lot of speculated articles stating shortages and supply constraints would be a major issue. So naturally that creates those to be concerned when they actually would receive their device. But I agree, for those who pre-ordered quickly, I think it went well.

Tell that to all the numerous people here who aren't getting it on launch day. But yeah, when the time comes we aren't worried, the phone will probably not be worth it.

The thing is that Apple often surprises people with later delivery dates when it arrives on launch day. Not saying that is going to happen this time, but it has happened many times in the past.

To be fair, the average person is not like most people on this forum willing to wake up at 3am (on the east coast) and close and reopen an app like a mad man until the store opens to preorder an iPhone lol So anyone waking up this morning is seeing 5-6 week wait times.

And although I did get mine for launch day, I did see ship times slip pretty quickly afterwards.

What are you talking about? Two years in a row the IUP screwed up. In fact, last year there was a class action lawsuit about it. Some of us woke up early and did everything right, and got a month out shipping date.

No.... not every year....

A couple of years ago (I forget which phone) we didn't get ours on launch day... it wasn't long after.... but not launch.

I didn't get my original apple watch on launch day... that was the following week.

Last year I almost didn't get mine, even though it was scheduled and shipped.... I got caught up in typhoon-gate!

OH.... and another year there was a delay because of the import paperwork....

I feel lucky (for now) this year..... we're not totally out of it yet.... a lot of things could still happen!

That's not true. Last year I ordered around 3am, as always, and ended up with a delivery 2 weeks late on my 128GB JB 7 Plus.

Same here. Last year was the first day I didn't receive a launch day phone. Got it a few days later at my sister's house 1,100 miles away by changing my billing address on ATT.

Not true. While I did not have any problems this time, I can see very clearly from reading all the posts this morning that LOTS of people had problems and are looking at several weeks of delay to receive their phones, even though they were just as ready and tried just as hard as I did to get an order in quickly.

I was simply lucky this time.

Last year it was the other way around for me. I did everything right but still ran into glitches and was not let into the store for over 10 minutes. I didn't get my iPhone 7 Plus for several weeks after release date.

The X sold out in less than 10 minutes, and the store was overwhelmed for many. We had good reason to worry. Many simply had no way to assure a Nov 3 delivery date.

Indeed. Ever since the iPhone 6, I get it every year on launch day delivery right to the office. No line to mess with. This year was much faster than last year though, only took like 2-3 click and 10 secs later it was done through IUP.

If you read through these forums, I bet you any money you can quickly get to at least 100 people who will not get it on launch..

It was the 6+, That’s the only one I haven’t got on launch day..

Ya I heard that, but I have never been on that so I guess I am lucky...

For the record, my order confirmation at 12:02 was not sufficient to receive 11/3 delivery date. Thankfully I was able to cancel that and order one for pickup in store, but stuck definitely sold out quick for T-Mobile/unlocked.

That’s what it is, all these freaking rumors speculating not nearly enough to go around world wide when no one actually knows. If you ordered within 14 min you got one, more then likely. I know am usually going to get one on launch but these dang arcitcle always give me doubts. Hate it

Also, what is the time range of, "get on in time"?

5 minutes after? 10=15 minutes after? 30??

I saw anything till 12:14 got it ontime assuming no other glitches..

Well a lot of ontime people didn’t cause of Verizon system wasn’t working. Or IUP wasn’t working right. But this is also a numbers game. I bet the percentages of 12:01-12:14 people will be higher then people who won’t get it on launch...

That’s an every year problem. Every year always something happens with people. But as a whole the % of People who got it ontime I bet will get on launch.

Well this was the year I didn’t have to worry. I walked into 3 stores with no lines or worry and plenty of stock.
