Totally noticed this awhile back.

I get the main thread freeze, but if I leave it long enough (5-10 minutes) it'll eventually load correctly. Seems like the database wasn't properly optimized for that kind of search.

128gb iPhone 6 with 34gb of music.

My 64 gb 5s does it, i have 20 gigs of music on it. It has to process and calculate tge files, don't mistake that wroth freezing

Powering down? have you tried a "hard" reboot?

Press power + home button when black screen appears

yes done it

I think I have figured something out.

Some mp3 files, which can be played just fine on music app, is deemed corrupted by OS.

I manually did adding and freezing for all 800 songs (such a waste of time)

but yeah

Mine didn't freeze but when I followed your instructions, my iPhone bent itself :(

I have a 128gb and it freezes..

----------

So we both have corrupt files or it's the darn phone. Infallible for some. Still my favorite phone this far, no less.

64GB, iPhone 6 with 10GB of music

no freezing, but lagging as hell when scrolling.

this is an issue

mine freezes from time to time... doesnt happen often; like once or twice a day...

this is definitely an early iOS8 bug... it'll prob be worked out after the next couple of updates...

Mine is fine... I guess it might have to do with how much songs u have. I have around 450 songs

iPhone 6 64 no freezing
I just have a few songs in my iPhone, maybe the freeze happens with a large library

I only have 3.6 GB of music on my phone (with 38.9 available), and my settings app crashes just trying to click on music under manage storage. But my music does play fine in the music app.
