Have to say this WWDC had more announcements that any other WWDC in recent times that I can remember. Tim Cook didn't waste time at the beginning throwing out meaningless iPhone and iOS and Apps sales stats up on the screen. It's a good thing that the keynote featured products more than metrics for Wall Street investors.
Why would he - iPhone sales are poor!!

Apple knocked it out of the park with this WWDC. Unlike that snooze fest I/O last month.

The sheer volume of complaints here and on other forums is all the proof you need. Nobody complains about a has-been or whoever’s in second place - they only complain about who’s on top. And Apple gave them lots to complain about.

Wait did google have an Io event this year?
No wonder android fans are so riled up, google dropped the ball and they are pissed.

Can’t blame them android is pretty stale and offers very little when it comes to privacy and protecting vs mining your data.

This pretty much summed up wwdc19 for apple.

Where’s the actual keynote video? It doesn’t take that long to remove the boos about the Mac Pro stand...
Were there boos?

Like trolling much?

Hopefully Apple have fixed the dog that car play is.

Why wouldn't they take out falling sales, hardly makes for a nice slide.

so,, two questions

1. Does dual BT earphone connection only support iphone8 and above(those with BT 5.0)???
If so, then Airpods 1st gen which has BT 4.0 incapable?

2. Since ipadOS supports gaming controllers, can we really get console gaming experience?

With prices dropping and jobs getting half the money for double the effort this is a real issue the 'if you can't afford it, it's not for you' nerds don't seem to understand.

Those same people saying these things wouldn’t buy it either. They don’t care to understand and are just trolling. It’s the standard Apple mob/frat mentality where circle jerking is the norm.

wow 6 grand just a computer.. To upgrade a whole 6 team it will be 5 years to cope back :(

I would hope you'd have a business/revenue model such that offsetting the cost of equipment - especially over a reasonable hardware lifecycle - would __not__ take 5 years. Obviously, this is also somewhat industry specific, if you're, say, a small shop doing mostly web and lightweight iOS development, setting up your dev team with something like Mac Minis probably makes way more sense. :)

The two friends I have that are highly interested in this new machine say that the cost is easily returned in the speed at which they can deliver (film/TV industry).

That LookAround feature (aka Apple's version of Street View) in Maps is something I need an in depth look at. Is it certain areas or all streets? If it truly performs the way it was shown on stage then it might be bye bye Google Maps for me.

I just noticed something.

Craig said that iOS 13 has been further optimized to make it even faster. One specific area is that Apps launch 2X as fast as before.

Question: What new faux benchmark will the Youtubers pivot to now that their ridiculously stupid App races will be rendered useless as a tool to pretend Android devices are faster?

The video is being doctored with subliminal messages so that you will not only like the Mac Pro stand but will buy one, if not two.

I have to buy two to go with my two monitors.

No idea but from the iOS 13 videos I have seen, apple might have been conservative with their performance estimates.

Android phones aren’t much of a comparison.

Pretty impressive updates this year. I was dreading the Apple processors for the Mac line, but I guess that's next year... Yes, I still use bootcamp.

I have a friend who owns a small graphic art company. He doesn’t think that the price of the new Mac Pro is out of line for a high end video/media company that has tight schedules and high paying customers. Which does not describe his business. He does projects for mom and pop outlets.

He said as long as the software and performance is better than a comparable non-Apple set up that it would be worth what Apple is charging, because at that level time is money. A lot of money. And if you either don’t have that type of customers or you lose those accounts then no, it’s not worth it. And neither are the non Apple high end systems.

What he can’t say is if Apple software is ANY different anymore. Adobe is pretty much the same cost and performance on any comparable system. Most other editing software is either OS neutral or favors Windows systems.

Maybe this new Mac Pro has hardware that really is better but I’ll never know. I never could justify high end computers from any company. I don’t need to do graphic rendering where a couple of hours can mean a few thousand dollars in made or lost profit.

Still needed: bring back the old-style RSS reader in Safari; the old-style expose (equal-sized desktops!); the ability to purchase iOS, tvOS, and macOS apps in a single integrated store (on macOS); etc.

Sign In with Apple is nice, I am desperate to chuck the chains of Google.

Apple make a big thing out of Reminders and Notes! Does anyone use them?
Many do. (And Apple covering the redesigns, changes, and additions to those doesn't really mean making a big thing out of it, just changes that they made that they are demonstrating and discussing.)

I have a question about SideCar, maybe someone can help, maybe they cant, maybe it is too early to know...

I have a headless Mac Mini that we use as a pseudo server/home theater PC/home automation PC for the home. Currently I do anything I need to do to that Mini through my MBP using screen sharing. Both devices are older, so I understand I may need to upgrade the Mini before my proposed setup may (or may not) work. I would like to eliminate the older MBP, its still in good shape, sell it; I would like to get a nice iPad pro and use it in place of the MBP to control my headless, peripheral less mac mini. Will SideCar allow this? Or will I need to go with something like the Duet Display? For the limited amount of personal computing we do at home, it doesn't make sense to have two Mac's at this point in time. An iPad would be perfect for what we do on a day to day basis but I still need to access the Mini from time to time.

My main Itunes machine is a 2008 Mac Pro that can't run the new OS? Now I am wondering if those apps will be coming to older machines? It's not like I can move my 1.2 Terabyte library to my laptop. Nor can I afford a new $6K Mac Pro. I hope they have thought about this?

What about a new or newer Mac Mini with an external drive? I'm sure they have thought about it, the thought was "how can we make people with older machines upgrade?" Both of my machines, mentioned in the post before yours, are 2010's I believe, they just wont quit working. But if using SideCar will do what I inquired above I'll have to upgrade the mini to a new or newer machine to gain SideCar capabilities.

One odd thing that stands out to me was when Craig was using an iPad to showcase some of the iPadOS features. He used an iPad with a keyboard attached, so it was sitting up like a laptop, and it stayed that way as he tapped the screen throughout the demo.

As he was doing that, I was hearing echo’s of past Apple statements saying that touchscreen Mac’s were not ergonomically friendly.
