My wife has suddenly lost all her emails from her iCloud inbox except for the ones arrived today that are still unread. They haven't been moved to Trash or anywhere else that I can see, they've just vanished into thin air. Only the inbox is affected, mails in all other folders are OK.

Everything was fine this morning, this has happened in the last couple of hours.

We're not at home so I haven't had a chance to check the Mail app on our Mac mini, this problem is only manifesting on her iPhone and the web-based iCloud Mail service.

Googling has suggested doing a mailbox rebuild, but I can't find an option for that in iOS or the web-based Mail.

Any suggestions gratefully received...

What do you see in Mail on iCloud.com?

Could try rebuilding the Mailbox index from the menu item Mailbox -> Rebuild.
