Everything keeps crashing when I open it. Please help

This issue started last night. I would open a program and it would work for ~5 minutes then all the sudden it would crash. Oovoo, Skype, Chrome, even the control panel crash shortly after startup. Some lock the system entirely. The only thing that fixes it is a restart.

Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this? I don't want to have to reinstall and lose everything

Does the same thing happen if you create a new user and try opening programs then?
Maybe try repairing permissions or clearing caches?

The whole thing went before. Wouldn't even start anymore. It would fail before the log in screen would come up. I have to restore I guess

Nope, I can't even access the drive now. I just had to order a new SSD 🙄

Yes very haha. I bought it refurbished almost 2 years ago, plus it was only 64GB so I got a bit of an upgrade at 120gb. I hope I can find a windows disk now though

So I wiped the drive for nothing and bought a new one for nothing!
