Do I still need to back all the way out of nested menus before closing the sidebar in Safari for iPadOS?

I don’t think you ever did? Can’t you just press-and-hold on the top left “back“ button and choose the root?

Press and wait or a few rapid short presses-- it's the same hassle to me. Even returning to root still takes a second press to close the sidebar, and then when I open it again I need to burrow back down to where I was in the hierarchy.

I used to be able to open and close the sidebar without losing context.

It looks like the CarPlay bug of apps such as SiriusXM, iHeart, TuneIN, and others not loading up correctly has been fixed. IN fact, CarPlay seems much faster than normal.

I've said this before. Very much look forward to Shareplay. Will really help providing technical support to my parents. I had to help my mom reset her Facebook password a couple weeks ago. That was torture. One of the most frustrating experiences of my life.

I face a similar challenge with my mom at least once a month (Randomly muted notifications, accidentally turning on DND, phone on portrait lock, etc etc etc). It makes you want to slap a baby.

How does Apple handle vaccination cards internationally? In Europe, there are now several apps that read and check vaccination certificates and can then be used in everyday life. I'm curious to see whether Apple will also support this important topic outside of the USA.

Apple is probably the only company that could implement something like this worldwide. That's impressive.

I support anything that helps me support my parents with technology.

I always spend a few minutes after I'm done helping them reminding myself that they taught me to wipe my butt and I can certainly help them with their technology woes!

Because by limiting automations to actions that are deliberately exposed by the app developers, it improves security.

Lol. That’s literally the cop out answer to everything. All I want to do is automate connecting to my home vpn in certain situations. Zero security issue with this and shortcuts limits me from doing this.

There are VPN services with apps that do have hooks for shortcuts. Just because whatever one you’re using does not doesn’t make it Apple’s fault.

Of course it’s apple’s fault. And I don’t want to use a commercial vpn. I need to connect to my home network via vpn for work but hate having to manually toggle it on and off when android will do it automatically.

AirPods have been available in “FindMy” app for a long time. That’s how we found my daughter’s AirPods when lost over a year ago…
