Can confirm that for o2. Vodafone is not supported though.I updated to the Beta3 ystday, and Just discovered that i could send RCS Messages today while writing with a colleague Who uses a Samsung phone. I live in Germany, on the o2 network. …Got iPhone 15pm white - 1TB.
Yes that was a huge and pointless annoyance. But you still can’t turn off the slide show when in an album. In the Photos app, you’re no longer forced to full-screen when zooming on a photo, you can zoom in just a little again. This was a HUGE peeve in b1 and b2, really glad they reversed it. 😂
Also, just spotted the emoji keyboard has changed, the keys are much larger.
Totally agree. It’s form over function for no reason. And no consistency. They basically turned it into Instagram.I have to agree. The Photos app changes are the biggest example of "change for the sake of change" I've ever seen. None of the changes make it easier to use. It's just different, for no real good reason, and requires a lot more swiping around whereas before you had the convenient "tabs" on the bottom.
Right now I'd be ecstatic if Apple abandoned the changes to the Photos app and just kept it the same as iOS 17. There was literally no reason to make these changes.
Those sound like valid complaints. Maybe submit feedback if you haven’t already? The summary feature only works on albums and the summarized photos are square, which crop the image too much. There should be a square/normal toggle.
Also, when you click on a photo to view it and, if the photo is vertical, there is a rounded corner and the photo doesn't reach the edge of the display, making it smaller than necessary.
I hope Apple forces all apps to have one. Otherwise, at night, the home screen will just look stupid with some apps still bright while most are dark. Finally dark icons - Awesome!
I started to. But in order to submit simple feedback the Feedback app requires a full photos app scan before you can send anything. After being so frustrated with the photos app I canceled the scan because it was taking a long time. I’ll try again. Those sound like valid complaints. Maybe submit feedback if you haven’t already?

My prediction is that Apple will release the Photos app as is and there will be huge blowback. It will be a Windows Vista (or Windows 8!) moment encapsulated in an app. The kids might love this change but older non-Instagram folks will hate it. This app is a deal-breaker IMHO.I’m really disheartened to hear about the problems with Photos. Based on the Keynote and a couple of articles I read, I was excited about all of the customization options. Just hoping that with all of the feedback from beta testers Apple might be able to address the issues.
And there’s no way to turn off the slide show.one more thing on the albums... when you open an album, there is a small slide show on top which is niece but it starts by showing the oldest images in sequence. why would u want to see an old image first?
I would randomize the images to show u photos from different times instead of in sequential old-new order.
Another thoughtless thought...
Yeah, I dislike the Photos app changes so much, that alone may keep me on iOS 17 for a while. Not to mention I don't care for Apple Intelligence which is supposed to be a big draw for iOS 18. I suspect it will use a lot of memory and CPU too, which will hurt performance. My prediction is that Apple will release the Photos app as is and there will be huge blowback. When you scroll to the bottom of the annoying Photos app you will find a way to customise the contents of the app UX.I couldn’t agree more. The Photos redesign is pointless busywork that just made the app harder to use.
