Get it while it's hot. You can send it into MacVidCards to get it MACefi'd

I kinda wish I had gotten this, I have a GTX780, it gets a tad hot but its ok.

How hard is this to flash yourself? How much of an upgrade is this from a Radeon 7950?

I saw this on slickdeals and was considering it yesterday. I decided to jump on it when I saw your post because my Radeon 7950 has a mouse lag issue now (SO ANNOYING!). Hope I made a good choice.

Wow! Looks like the promo just died at 12:01am 5/9/15.

Also, I hope you put a link to the card that is the most Mac Pro friendly, because that is the one I ordered. Also, the one linked does not come with a free Backplate, but it has 3 x DisplayPort and 1 x DVI while the other one with the backplate has only 1 display port and 2 x dvi.

Looks like Newegg sells a bunch of these:

I am not 100% certain if you can do it yourself, but I think it's not only a firmware update it's also hardware modification. I could be wrong. macvidcards charges 180 for the service.

From your card to this it will be a big jump especially if you need something like cuda or you game on the windows side. I game sometimes and it runs games buttery smooth.

I recomend the triple DisplayPort cards, gives you much better options going forward.

Thanks for the advice. I noticed there are a lot of variants of the 970. In another thread, someone said the GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0+ 4GB did not work in their Mac 5,1 at all, while the other variants worked fine.

Have you had any issues with this varient? I'm also considering getting this flashed by you next week. With this particular model, are there hardware benefits or is it just a boot screen? I can live without the bootscreens, but if you flashing it allows it to go from 2.5ghts to 5ghts then I think I'll use your service. Thanks
