Hello all!
I am an ex windows user with some questions about os x 1.5.
Is this the same as os x ? I am trying to download some updates from the
internet but it doesn't seem to be working. I read the tutorial thing at the
beginning of the forum page, but still cannot dig it. Any help would be appreciated!!

Do you mean OS X 10.5 instead of 1.5?
OS X 10.5 is Leopard

Updates should be handled through Software Update under the Apple Menu (upper left corner of the menu bar)

Ya you shouldn't need to download OS X updates from online. You just use the "Software Update" drop down item. Those should be all the updates you need.

The term OS X refers to this generation of OS for the mac. OS X refers to 10.1 Cheetah/puma, 10.2 Jaguar, 10.3 Panther, 10.4 Tiger, and 10.5 Leopard. We are currently on 10.5.7 with Snow Leopard (10.6) just around the corner.
