Hi All,

making an effort today with excel on the ipad

found this, enjoy! 🤓. 😂

25.07.2020:
New link today - a proper comprehensive table listing of shortcuts. Most useful is the FREQUENTLY USED section:

A good web page - From MS no less:

RE: Finding the answers:
The strategy I’m using to try and work out how to use Excel on Ipad is a bit varied at the moment. Start of the month, It was Google search For each thing I was trying to do. Then looking at available apple web pages, for shortcuts for MAC, and trying to use variations on IPAD.

This time, I came across the above helpful link by chance. MS help page said could not do this switch between the tabs, but I looked at their shorcut listings and it was there after all 😂

duff advice link:

Microsoft really need to sort out their excel for ipad, what a faff!

Maybe better posted in the IOS sub-forum? I'm just happy to have free Excel and the entire MS Office suite on my Mini and 5th and 6th gen iPads (all under 10.1").

What Microsoft need is to give us a non subscription base option for their iPad Office apps.

I switched to Numbers and said goodbye to my Excel shortcut - muscle memory :(

Found a good web page - From MS no less:

Found the option to:
Move to the previous sheet in the workbookControl+Page Down
or
Option+Left arrow key

Under section:
Move and scroll in a sheet or workbook

Ruddy heck - accidentally went too far to the right, on my excel tabs, and could not work out how to go back - there is no scroll bar avail (?!)

Found “right click” - to get options up on a cell:

1) Quick way
OPTION + click on touch pad!

Or

2) Longer way do:
Long click on touch pad (until Screen ”blips”)
Then short click on touch pad!

Hi All,

More things found:

Reducing key strokes
(and avoiding hassle of having to look down as you move fingers away from trackpad to key pads, and vice versa):

To get “Quick action menu” up on a cell in excel:

1) If using track pad to get to cell wanted:
This approach only uses the keypad. No need to press any other keys. Ok, if not in a rush.
1.1 Use track pad to move cursor to cell wanted
1.2 Keep finger on track pad - and press down, and pause, for a click
1.3 Quick action menu pops up! (E.g. do these same steps, for cell want copy from, to cell want copy to etc.)

2) If already at cell wanted:
2.1) Quick way
OPTION + click on touch pad
- This approach is more sure fire if in a rush, but more frenetic. I.e. No need to wait a moment to release keys etc. However, need to work that keyboard more to do the same thing! (I.e. more key strokes / dexterity Etc.)

Or

2.2) Longer way do:
- Long click on touch pad (until Screen ”blips”)
- Then short click on touch pad.
- A lot of timing and waiting around!
