Excel - Update data via web

Has anyone done this in a way that the Excel document will refresh on opening on both Windows and Mac versions of Excel?

I have a supplier who uses Excel auto-refreshing but it doesn't work with the Mac version of Excel.

Do you mean the data refreshes on a sheet linked to information that is updated elsewhere? I've worked with a data warehouse that was linked via Excel, and yes it refreshed. It's been several years, but I believe I didn't want it to automatically update until I told it to.
