Excellent Customer Service!

    I was annoyed yesterday when Apple gave the baseline MBPR more configuration options after I got mine. A $90 upgrade to 2.6GHz on the education store! I called Apple hoping if I could exchange for a higher configuration and the representative said no.

    My order was placed on the online store on June 14th and it shipped on the 29th. It's the 2.3/16/256 configuration. A replacement was then shipped on July 12th due to the display humming and the bottom cover creaking.

    Today, Apple called back and allowed me to return this machine and place a new order on the 2.6/16/256 configuration that I want. Awesome! :D

    Overall I've had good experiences with Apple Customer Service. They're good at recognizing when something has gone too far and they need to make amends.

    When you make a 30%-40% margin on your products, you can go to greater lengths to make the customer happy. People say Apple products are overpriced. They're not when you consider what you're getting including the excellent customer service.

    I have had very on/off service, yesterday the Genius that helped me did not fix my problem, I returned today a bit angry, and they took care of everything. They are better than any other company, however a few years ago the service was more consistently good.

    Thank you for hope. Called apple ordered July 12th.. Refund processed on phone. Thank you again woulda never called if I didn't see your post.

    While we're talking about great customer service, I should mention this:

    I bought a rMBP the day they were announced. It was delivered while I was on a trip in Europe, and I had a friend stop by to pick it up. However, my building gave it to someone else by mistake and I was freaking out. After getting nowhere with our doorman and FedEx, I called Apple, who without any further details, offered to ship a replacement. My doorman called a day or two later to say someone had returned it, and I called Apple to cancel. The fact that they were willing to send a replacement even though it had been signed for by my building is amazing though.

    Apple may be nice, but watch out for the feds if you're going to be using that extra power to print money. :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
