I am getting a 5s sometime this week and my work system uses exchange server and it must be password protected in order to have access. I am wondering i the fingerprint security would be usable instead of a pin or password?

That would be up to your IT people, but I highly doubt it!

My employer uses Exchange and requires password protection to sync my account on mobile devices, and it accepts the TouchID just fine.

TouchID is only stored in the phone and you can set a password to it so it is usable for exchange.
