Exchange sealed iPad for iPad v2?

I know this is a long shot, but..

If I were to get an iPad as a gift and it still be sealed in the box, would there be any way for me to get a credit from Apple without receipt so I can wait for the version 2 model to come out?

Sorry, not without a receipt. If you can get your hands on the credit card, they could probably look up the receipt.

If not, you could sell it on eBay.

Sell it on ebay, in some cases they are going for over Apple retail to international buyers.
