Apple quality control is terrible, I have been through so many returns to get perfect apple products and I have learnt to deal with it.
If you order anything from Apple it’s going to have a slight scratch or mark on it, even the users who say, “just looked at mine and it’s perfect”, they haven’t looked hard enough, I say to myself if I want to be able to enjoy apples brilliant technology I need to no longer be bothered if there are slight scuffs out of the box.
I say return your current iPad and go to the Apple store and have a good look at it in the store, if there are scratches on it you are just going to have to deal with it because taken me so much of my time and energy to try to get a perfect cosmetic item from Apple and I never do, even when I think I have got one which is perfect the more I look the more I will be able to find imperfections, so now I just stick a case on it and try not to search for anything that may be wrong with it and enjoy it.
I cannot count the number of Apple products I have purchased between myself and my kids (and now grandkids) over the last 15 years. I have NEVER, and I mean absolutely NEVER received a brand new one that was scratched or scuffed in any way. I have bought refurbs that I couldn’t find scratches on. I’ve owned iPods, nanos, shuffles, iMacs, iBooks, MacBooks, Apple watches, and almost every iPad and iPad Pro, and every, single phone ever made (with the exception of the X); never a single issue with an item arriving with any type of damage. In fact, the only item I have ever had to return to Apple for any reason was my XS Max, and that was due to MY issues using the OLED display.
I am extremely particular. I take very good care of my tech. I always have cases waiting here for my new item, and if the case/screen protector isn’t here, I don’t use the item until it gets here. I look over my products pretty thoroughly when they arrive. I don’t take a magnifying glass to them, or to anything else I buy, but with my eyes, I’ve never seen an issue with nearly 100 different pieces of Apple tech in 15 years.
I’m not saying you haven’t had the issues; all I’m saying is there ARE people who don’t.
