Hi everyone, this is my first post here but I've been reading MR for a while now. I tried searching already but I couldn't find anything regarding possible exchanges to CTO models if an update occurs...

I just bought an CTO MBA a couple of days ago (Aug 13th) from the apple online store (education). I was checking MR compulsively before I bought it to make sure there were no upcoming update rumors/speculation, etc. Of course, the day after I ordered it, rumors were surfacing about a possible update.

I didn't cancel my MBA at the time though because I ordered an iPod Touch at the same time & wanted to get the rebate (I knew if I canceled my MBA I wouldn't be eligible for the rebate anymore, and I couldn't cancel my iPod because by this time it had already shipped).

So, *if* an update arrives on Tuesday (I know it's just a rumor and not fact!) would I be able to call Apple and politely ask for an exchange to an updated one even though the MBA I ordered was CTO within the 14 day period? (I don't live near an Apple Retail Store, by the way).

Also, if there is an update, and I do receive the older model, I know I shouldn't open the box when I get it so it's easier to exchange (if I am allowed to exchange that is). Are the specs listed on the box somewhere so I'll know what configuration the computer has?

Thanks!
