Exclude a drive from LaunchServices Database?

I have a clone of my hard drive on an external hard drive but when ever I right click > Open With I get doubles of everything (one from my internal drive and one from the back up). Is there any way to exclude the external drive from being scanned by LaunchServices?

BTW the LaunchServices Database is what controls the Open With menu and program defaults.

Well, it's not perfect but if you make an archive of the external drive's Applications folder and ditch the original, it should exclude those apps from the Open With menu. I'm sure there's a better answer out there though, so I'll keep my eyes peeled.
