I don't understand the long wait time either. I mean I under all of the variables, but if there's a "pre-order" keyword, "pre-order," that means that I'm pre-ordering my product to ensure that I receive it on the date that it launches.

After all, how would you feel if you went to a retail store, purchased a product, only to be told that you would receive your product at a later date?!?!

I'm totally disappointed that I have to wait until June to receive a product that I "pre-ordered" almost two months in advance.

If you think this is a long wait time, try ordering a TV from Samsung. I placed an order on April 4th, got a confirmation email short time after but with no expected delivery date. When I called Samsung, they told me it was on back order but could not give me any sort of date range. The person said they never know when they will be getting more stock in. It is still not here, and I don't know when it will be so don't complain. Apple at least gave a date range.

Does anyone else find it odd that none of the ship dates for any model have stretched past June? One would think that after a few days, the delivery times would continue to extend. Did everyone stop placing orders when they saw those extended delivery estimates? Or perhaps as Andrew pointed out, thousands of people who don't read online forums such as this one plan to line up at stores on the 24th and hope for the best.

Not all. I have 6 of the best 42mm SS models Favorited and can quickly see the shipping times. The Black Stainless is July.

I would hope that most people who would have lined up are checking out the media. At least if someone lines up 2 days before the launch someone from inside the Apple store will hopefully come out and ask them what they are waiting for. I also think that the scalper guys who line up the old people with cash know better also.

Curious

I'm curious to know so does this mean there will be a change in the coming week that we can pre-order online for instore pick up on the 24th as I'm in Hong Kong, I was 10 mins late to order the watch and now its delivery expected to be June, which I don't want to wait.

I agree with you. I placed my preorder yesterday afternoon and it had a simple Available to ship in June. Thought it would be July by now

I would've been highly upset with Samsung and kindly requested a refund. You have a point. However, if I pre-order something, I expect it the day it releases.

I feel the same way.

It's crazy, right?!?!

Launch day.

All the major media companies will be shooting live from the flagship apple stores on launch day, and if those stores don't have any stock, it will be a public relations nightmare. I think the reason shipping times were mysteriously pushed back so far, is because they know they have to have in store stock for launch day. I mean think about it. If there are people lining up overnight, and CNN is there covering the launch, they have to have product. What I'm afraid of is showing up to the mall in the middle of the night and seeing a sign on the door saying that they won't have anything.

I'm sure CNBC will be there but I'm not convinced other major networks will. Seriously I just don't think it's that big of news.

Well if they have inventory for in store sales it would be only "Reserve and Pickup"

my order experience

I got up at 1:45 am my time and at 2 am when the store should have been open is wasn't. I hit refresh a lot and at about 2:15 am i got in and added my watch to cart and checked out within 5 minuets and got a June shipping date. I had ordered the stainless with the link bracelet both in black. I had someone post a reply to a comment on an engadget article i had placed that he was told by someone at an apple store that my unit was a made to order and would ship sooner then June. I have no idea if this was true or not. Guess i will find out in the coming months.
