It looks like us existing o2 customers who haven't yet got an iPhone won't be able to upgrade early as was offered with the 1st gen iPhone.

Just received a text off o2 saying Thank you for registering interest in the iPhone 3G we will contact you when you are eligible for upgrade.

Fingers crossed this was a mass text sent out to all o2 customers who registered interest and that they will actually be in contact later today. haha
 
i think it was a mass text (which i haven't received yet!! lol)..

you could still have 6 months of your non-iPhone O2 contract left.. or you could be out of contract..
i can upgrade at any time being on the simplicity tariff..

but i'm still gonna try the online shop/call O2 and see if they will take an order from me :)
 
i got it too.. just gonna go down to my o2 store on fri and pleed with them haha. a fella on the phone said i could upgrade, even tho he was wrong. im just gonna play on that.
