How do you get the terminal/shell window to close automatically after a process has finished executing?

I have a few scripts/programs that start in the shell, then exit. However, instead of closing the shell/terminal, it just states [process completed].

In 'preferences --> When the shell exits', I selected 'close the window', but it still stays open.

It's more of an annoyance than a problem, but any help would be appreciated...

Thanks

Did you also change the "Prompt before closing" setting? (Just below "When the shell exits")
Set it to "Never" and your shell will always close.
