Does any one know if Apple has gotten rid of all defective batteries? If all MBP's purchased from May 2007 on will not have a bad battery? I'm considering my first MBP. Just concerned with the battery issue. Would like to avoid the hassle of having to being the laptop/battery to an Apple Store to replace the battery.

Thanks.

PS. Prefer to hear from Canadian owners. But any one is welcome.

no new ones have the bad batteries anymore.

"no new ones" purchased after what date? As I said...I read on the Apple.com site that there were some defective batteries on laptops purchased between Feb 2006 and April 2007.

As much as its a pain to get it replaced, is it really worth not buying a computer over (if you need a new computer)? They're not going to argue about replacing the battery if you have that problem.

It wouldn't be a deal breaker but it is something I'm concerned about. Avoiding the hassle.
