= awesome time to buy

Exactly. It amazes me how many people don't understand the nature of the stock market. Stocks ebb and flow, and personally, I hope they do drop again so I can maybe snatch up a few shares. Sure wish I did back in January when everyone was saying how Apple was doomed because of the drop in their spike. Even with a sharp decline, its all but guaranteed to climb up to $200 again.

If they (apple) comes out with a few duds...ala Apple TV, their price will drop (alot) and may never rebound. Jobs knows this and has to please Wall Street.

Not going to happen. Apple is in a better position now than they have ever been. They have a bigger market share in nearly every market sector they are in than ever. I don't see an "epic fail" of the iPhone bringing Apple to their knees. Guess what? Expectations are already higher than could possibly be met, just like they were a year ago, and Apple's stock keep climbing up to that $200 line. Even with the Apple TV.

Hey now, easy on the ATV. I personally think it is one of the best devices to supplement my Mac. I have kids and man is it easier (and safer) to let the kids watch movies via ATV vs. a DVD.

I expect an iPhone or S*** is going to hit the fan.

I expect:

  • iPhone 2
  • iPhone apps with a lot of emphasis on mobile 3G media (streaming tv, movie rentals), GPS applications and mobile computing on your phone...

...and then on to the developer stuff (OS X Leopard, maybe something about 10.6, and the iPhone 2.0 software environment).

I don't expect an iPhone Nano until Christmas is just a wee bit closer. A fall launch (September, October) makes a lot more sense. Why cannibalize iPhone 2.o sales?

All in all, I expect it will be great WWDC. That said, I am not expecting some long hoped for Apple appliance that isn't going to materialize.

I love Apple TV. Its a shame more people don't appreciate its awesomeness.

I like my Apple speakers. I think they sound better than the Bose speakers for the iPod. Too bad they don't sell those anymore. I know I would like Apple TV and don't think it is a flop. Disappointed in the rental prices for movies.

I expect another device like the iPhone or the iPod Touch. I also expect some really must-have Apps for the iPhone.

See now I don't get this. People keep forgetting that the D in WWDC stands for Developer, as in software.

If people are expecting this to be a big hardware announcement even, well then they are going to be disappointing.

so you're saying that the new iphone 2 hardware won't be introduced at WWDC? like the whole world is predicting, tech analysts, industry experts, insiders?

I don't think he's saying that, but I do think he's saying that the iPhone has brought the bandwagon WWDC "fans" from outta the woodworks who seem to confuse WWDC with Macworld.
