expected launch date for next gen Apple silicon laptops?

Haven't been following the forums for a few months but need to budget for a new laptop. What is the latest thinking on when these bad dads will be released? Is it still Sept?

Usually macOS releases lag behind the others. I would expect new hardware to target Monterey, so I wouldn't expect anything until mid-October.

If you’re fast at ordering and get lucky, you should see it on your doorstep in November. I foresee Apple’s most anticipated laptops in more than a decade selling out in a couple minutes, with ship times slipping as badly as 6-8 weeks. So some may get post-Christmas delivery if they wait.

It’s likely the chip/display shortages have already effected the notebooks. Rumors suggested they were supposed to release back at WWDC this summer but were delayed. So it’s entirely possible that we could see them shipping this fall.

For the Pro models November seems a solid candidate and for the Air either Spring next year or November. (For the new Air I'm inclined for Spring since the rumor mill has been around Q1/Q2 2022, plus they would have them ready for the Back to School in September)
