hey guys...

i'm getting ready to order the new 15" and am hopeful some of you guys could give me hand.

i'm planning on selling my g4 tower on eBay, but would appreciate it if you guys could give me a ballpark as to what it could go for...

here's the specs:

originally the G4 533 single-processor (january 2001)
upgraded the processor to a PowerLogix 1.0 gig with 2 megs of L3 cache

1.5 gig of RAM

added an 80 gig 8mb cache 7200 rpm hard drive/left the stock 40 gig hard drive as well...

running 10.3

obviously i know i can set a reserve, but i'm looking for a fair estimate of what it may actually sell for..

thanks as always...

chris

What you can do it do some research on what similar products on eBay have sold for. This way you aren't undercutting yourself nor asking too much. However, if there is a (reasonable) price you would like to get for your computer, don't be afraid to ask for it.

given the price of the new eMac ($799)... this hurts your sale alot.. a few weeks ago you probably could have got $850 but now it would be great if you could get $650.

granted the powermac and emac are 2 different beasts, people shopping around in this price point are going to look to get as much as they can.

I only got $850 for my Cube with a 1GHz PowerLogix. A guy in France bought it. The Euro is high against the dollar right now, so he got a really good deal. I'm afraid the G4s are beginning to really fall...

What about people who buy DuLLs? They don't shop around; people who 'shop around' custom build their own computers.
