I was really waiting for the iPad Mini but I will not buy one for the following reasons:
  • the storage offering does not fit my needs (and you do not have any option to expand the capacity of the device by adding a memory card);
  • the camera offering does not fit my needs.
Optimal solution for these two features would have been:

STORAGE:
  • 3 storage options, 128, 256, 512;
CAMERA (just re-use the iPhone 12 Pro Max configuration, Sept. 2020):
  • Pro 12MP camera system: Ultra Wide, Wide, and Telephoto cameras.
  • Ultra Wide: ƒ/2.4 aperture and 120° field of view.
  • Wide: ƒ/1.6 aperture.
  • Telephoto: ƒ/2.2 aperture.
  • 2.5x optical zoom in, 2x optical zoom out; 5x optical zoom range.
  • Digital zoom up to 12x.
  • Night mode portraits enabled by LiDAR Scanner.

Because if they were smaller you wouldn’t be able to hold the device without accidentally tapping the screen. It works on the iPhone because you hold it with one hand where you cradle it, you don’t grip the edge like picking up a notebook.
That explains why it needs bezels but why are they so fat? They are huge.

Are... are you new to basically anything Apple?

Just put the camera from a $1100 device in a $499 device 5head

Any particular reason why the mini models are more expensive? Basically identical to the bigger model, only smaller. Am I missing something? 🤔

I believe the bezel is thicker than the previous model… I don’t need a bigger bezel, so it’s a loss IMO. The taller aspect ratio also sucks for reading 🥲

The old mini is so light you don’t even need your hand on the front of the screen… Even if you reach across with your thumb the device doesn’t count that as a touch.

Sadly, this is probably what we’ll have for ~3 years or so.

Tempted to keep my current mini, maybe I’ll be swayed when I get to try one in person.

You get 2% if you use ApplePay on Expercom plus there are no taxes for most.
The comment was for buying Apple products. Apple gives 3% on Apple product purchases in store and online. Lower amounts for standard Apple Pay purchases elsewhere.
