My 9th gen ipad came with 3 months free Apple Arcade. I have 3 months to redeem that so I'll save it for after holidays.
GameClub OTOH is new to me. I tried to play a game I had on my previous ipad (Ipad Air, 1st gen from 2013) that I redownloaded, and it says I can play this since I previously purchased it. So just create an account and I'm good to go? I won't have to pay the $5 a month (although I could if I wanted the full catalog of 100 or so games?)
