Apple are replacing my defective Magic Keyboard. They said they will be sending a courier in the next 2 days to collect my existing one, and that as soon as the courier has it, they will ship my new one.

The Apple tracking for the new one I've got coming says delivery will be in 2-3 weeks. On the phone though, Apple said that they prioritise 'replacements' so it won't be as long as that.

Anyone else had a similar situation, and did the replacement ship earlier than anticipated? It sucks to think I could be without a keyboard for up to 3 weeks because my original was faulty.
 
If Apple hasn't shipped your replacement yet, it's odd that it would show a delivery date already. Does it show as Processing? If so, I bet the real date populates once it's shipped.

Also, because I'm curious, was Express Replacement available for the MK?

It’s showing as Processing. It has the same order number as my original order from April.

On the order status page it has two orders - the April order which is “Delivered” and a new one which says arrives in 2-3 weeks. It is at the Processing stage but says “Replacement” next to the product title.

UPS is due to collect my defective one tomorrow. It sucks if I’ll be without a keyboard or a case for 2-3 week. Was hoping that what the advisor said about replacements getting priority over new orders is true.

They did offer express but for a 300 hold which I didn’t want to do.
 
Well, let us know what happens with the rest of the process including your shipping times. Here's hoping it's 2-day air or even (gasp!) overnight.

Thank you! I will do.

I was going to just allow the first issue (fraying edges) but the backlight is now coming on when the iPad is locked, and behaving strangely, plus I'm getting some pretty hefty battery drain on the iPad, even when in standby so I think it's a problematic model.

Fingers crossed the replacement comes sooner and it's a good one! Will keep you posted.
