Considering that you have to install the "missing Video ActiveX Object" would that not raise alarm bells? last I checked ActiveX Object's don't run on OS X or am I wrong?

Anyone with more than a functioning brain stem knows about the video codec and active x trick. Smells fishy though, I hate it when people try dupe mac users into anti-virus crap.

I think the point is that, while plenty of people on here might know that, the vast majority of ordinary Mac users would not. However many 'Pro' tags are appended to the product names, Macs are, by and large, aimed at and purchased by those who know little about how they work.

These articles kill me, and kills me even more when Window fanboys don't know the difference between a virus/spyware/malware/trojans. The article is describing a trojan, not a virus. Everyone and their mother is an "expert" now because they've used Windows for years, run anti-virus, and keep getting viruses.

Ooooo, I got something because I'm retarded and have no common sense so it must be a virus. No, you're a donkey that's your problem. No anti-virus can fix that problem.

A virus self replicates and spreads without user intervention.

Trojan takes a dumb and gullible user, but does not self replicate and spread.

Also, some people need to get some lessons on the difference between Windows and a Unix system before they say it was only a matter of time.

How many versions of Windows have we been through with no real reduction of viruses? That's right, I'm on a Mac and I'm still here waiting.

Oh yea, on top of that I'm still waiting for :apple:'s demise. What's that Michael Dell? Having a hard time selling a poo poo magoo laptop?
