Expired .mac email - can it be reintroduced as @me.com?

    Never renewed .mac a couple of years ago, can I still get this old email name?

    You should be able to.

    Signing in at me.com with that name and password (assuming you know it) is the first step to check.

    If you don't know the password, try using iForgot (http://iforgot.apple.com/)

    If that doesn't work, then it's likely that the name has been released and you should just be able to sign it up as a new account.

    Apple never releases previously registered usernames. It's yours literally forever. One thing to remember, though: usernames that are not renewed within 45 days of the expiration date can be renewed only by MobileMe support team.
