Hi Everyone,

When iCloud Drive came out I disabled it along with Photos backup/sync. I remember disabling Photos because of some reported mishaps with photos being randomly deleted, and I think I disabled iCloud Drive because of the popups that started in apps like TextEdit about saving to iCloud Drive, however, I cannot remember the exact reason I disabled it.

With iOS 11 integrating a Folder's app on the iPad, I would like to start using iCloud Drive to sync a few commonly used files across my devices. Am I correct in assuming iCloud Drive functions just like Dropbox? When I enable it and click options there are several applications already using iCloud Drive, can I disable these without affecting my other iCloud services (like email sync, note sync, etc)?

Thank you,
-Rick

You can use iCloud Drive just like a Dropbox classic clone yes, and not use other features. Personally, iCloud sync, iCloud Photo Library and iCloud Drive have been rock solid.
